    The thought of escaping to the seaside for the long, hot summer months is tantalizing. But not many of us have the luxury of setting aside two months to do so. Never fear: the city is an exciting place to be in the city and since nearly 80% of the U.S. population live in cities, chances are your kids can relate to children's books about summer in the city and not just books about lazy days at the beach.

    Here are some choices we love:


    Summer in the City. This is a brand new chapter book about how kids who thought staying in the city would be boring, but find out it is anything but!

      Cool list! "Countdown to Grandma" is quite popular right now even though it's sort of "babyish". Someone can't wait to see her Babushka!
