City Coloring Page

Happy New Year everyone! I’m so pleased that children’s book author and illustrator, Melanie Hope Greenberg, is going to join us for another year of coloring pages. For those of you who are new to this series, every month Melanie offers the readers of What Do We Do All Day? a free, printable coloring page. Sometimes they even double as activity pages, such as the mermaid paper dolls, or 3-D school house and pizza parlor.

This scene is part of a huge mural Melanie created for the AFL-CIO conference at the Los Angeles Convention Center. You can see the finished mural below in a screenshot I snagged from Melanie’s facebook page. (She welcomes you to “friend her” — just let her know you saw her work here.)

Urban kids can double the fun with  Melanie’s New York City coloring page.

Both my kids and I have been sick on and off for the last 2 weeks so I don’t have any cute photos of my son coloring up his page like usual, but I know you’ll enjoy this one!

More about Melanie:

Melanie Hope Greenberg is an award winning author and illustrator of more than 15 children’s books, including Good Morning, Digger, Down in the Subway and A City Is. Mermaids on Parade, set in Coney Island, has become a bookshelf staple for summer-loving kids. It was selected as a Bank Street Best Book, and for the Texas Reading Club and PBS Kids Summer Reading Lists.

Melanie is a strong supporter of parents and caregivers and would love to connect with you on her facebook page. You can also visit Melanie’s Blog to find out how to link to her personal Amazon seller’s page or PayPal link and find out how you can get one of her books autographed. They make lovely gifts, especially for kids who might like diggers or mermaids. You wouldn’t happen to know any kids like that, would you?
