Make a Friend Day Coloring Page: Celebrate Friendship!

    • Facebook

Did you know that February 11th is Make a Friend Day? This coloring page featuring neighbors making new friends is just the activity you need to celebrate, aside from bringing your neighbors cookies, of course!

Uncolored make a friend day coloring page with illustration of city block of apartment buildings and people meeting on the sidewalk.

Children's book author and illustrator Melanie Hope Greenberg created this Make a Friend Day coloring page exclusively for you, my dear What Do We Do All Day reader!

“A friend is one of the nicest things you can have and one of the best things you can be.”

    –Winnie the Pooh

As you can see the illustration features a friendship in the making. A neighbor walking a dog is meeting a mother and child at their stoop. Melanie designed the scene after her Brooklyn neighborhood, but your kids can imagine the scene taking place anywhere.

Kids can imagine what the boy is saying to his neighbor and write it in the speech bubble. Then be sure to fill in the empty windows! What will their draw? Curtains? Cats? More neighbors? Maybe even a dinosaur–hey, no need to stick to realism.

So start down the road to making a new friend. But first, download and print the coloring page (by clicking on the following link you agree to our terms of service; see end of post for details*): Neighborhood friends coloring page
