Christmas Would You Rather? Advent Calendar

    • Facebook

Would you rather? questions are popular ice breakers. Answers to these "given a choice what would you do" type of questions can be both silly and revealing. We've gathered 24 Christmas and winter themed Would you rather? questions for a holiday advent calendar that will help you take a few moments out of your day in December to bond with your kids, and have a few giggles.

Paper slips with would you rather questions and jar containing a few slips.

The Would you rather? questions include a mix of both silly and straightforward questions. Some may produce answers the provoke a giggle or groan. Others may simply give family members a chance to get to know each other better.

Most importantly, make sure to give your kids a chance to elaborate on their answer. WHY did they answer the way they did? Have them elaborate. You may discover something new about them!

Choose whatever time of day works best for you. Perhaps you want to use the advent calendar as a way to start your day out on a positive note. Or, if mornings are busy, use the questions as dinner conversation starters. The choice is yours!

How to make the advent calendar

Setting up this advent calendar requires you to answer the following question:

Would you rather pull a question out of a jar or an envelope?

The answer to that question will give you a hint as to how the calendar works. The instructions are pretty obvious, if you ask me.

First, print out the advent calendar printable. You will need to enter your email in the form directly beneath this sentence.

Second, grab a pair of scissors and cut out the individual questions. Fold each slip of paper in half (if desired, not strictly necessary) and place them in a jar or envelope (remember that important question I asked!).

Alternatively, you can also use a reusable advent calendar with pockets or drawers, and add in a piece of candy, or some stickers for a little extra treat.

Printed sheets of would you rather questions, scissors and jar.

Lastly, every day, gather the kids around, pull out a question, read it out loud and listen to everyone answer it! Everyone can answer the same question.
