Handmade Bookmarks

Handmade bookmarks make great gifts for kids to make for teachers. They are useful and don’t take up much space. After all, every teacher reads!

Fun, easy personalized teacher gift - handmade bookmarks

Kiddo has 8 (EIGHT!) teachers so handmade holiday gifts were definitely in order. Making these personalized bookmarks was also a fun art project. Kiddo wrote each teacher’s name with a wax crayon on watercolor paper and then painted over it with watercolors to reveal the letters. Sure, his handwriting isn’t perfect, but that makes them more special.

Be sure to use thin watercolor paper (cheap paper works just fine). We took the homemade bookmarks to a local office supply store to get them laminated.

We wrapped each personalized name bookmark up with small moleskin notebook.

Of course the teachers LOVED them. How could they not?

Alternatively, you could also make postage stamp bookmarks for teachers who love to travel!

And what fun for Kiddo to see the names come to life with the paint – like magic.

Love this idea as a parent, and I'd love getting them as a teacher. Heck, I think I'd like making them, too. Hope you don't quit your theme here, I check in even though my kiddo's in HS by now.
