Beach Coloring Page

I love how our collection of coloring pages by Melanie Hope Greenberg is growing! We now have several summer-y printable pages for your kids with the addition of this seaside scene. This beach coloring page seems kind of retro to me, which is awesome. One of my favorite thing about Melanie's coloring sheets is that the scenes include small details, which make them nice for older kids, too.

Melanie agrees with me that kids primarily need free time to explore art projects in their own way, but that printables like this coloring page are great for those moments when you really need a quick boredom buster.

In addition, coloring pages can act as pretend play prompts. See her ocean life coloring page to see how we used it to create a playscape. This seaside scene would make a great backdrop on a mini stage for Melanie's printable mermaid paper dolls!

Meet the illustrator:

Melanie Hope Greenberg loves to visit the seaside, especially Coney Island! Her cheerful, vibrant illustrations can be found in books such as Good Morning, Digger, Down in the Subway and A City Is. Her very popular Mermaids on Parade, set at the beach, was selected as a Bank Street Best Book, and for the Texas Reading Club and PBS Kids Summer Reading Lists.
