Surprisingly Useful Stocking Stuffers for Teens

    • Facebook

Sometimes it's challenging to find good stocking stuffers for teens that they will actually use and enjoy. I'm lucky that my kids Christmas stockings are small so I don't have to come up with gobs of ideas in order to fill them.

I usually chose 1-3 small items like the ones on this list, a chocolate treat and then add in something super practical like a toothbrush, just to remind them that I'm their mom, after all!

Earbud cleaning kit tools next to white earbuds.

    EARBUD CLEANING KIT

    Find it: Amazon

This might be the most used stocking stuffer we have ever given our teens. We've tried a couple of different kits and they all seem comparable, but this is the kit my youngest son is currently using. You can also use it to clean keyboards.

Green olight flashlight and orange flashlight shown in both open and closed options.

    KEYCHAIN FLASHLIGHT

Find it: 50 Lumens | 180 Lumens (both come in various colors)

When your teen starts driving or coming home late at night (don't get me started) this keychain flashlight will help them avoid spending valuable time fishing out their phone to turn on the phone flashlight when they need to see what they are doing. The coolest part of this flashlight is that it has a magnetic base so you can use it hands-free if necessary!

Blue Wallet Ninja multitool the size of a credit card.

    WALLET NINJA MULTITOOL

Find it: Wallet Ninja classic | Wallet Ninja all styles

Our teens each their own Wallet Ninja multitool and it comes it very handy, especially the corner that doubles as an eyeglass screwdriver! The classic version has 18 tools and is the size of a credit card so will fit in that super thin wallet you will also be giving them.

Yellow button that says "30 Second Dance Party"

    30 SECOND DANCE PARTY

Find it: Original | Holiday Version

This thing is so fun. Press the button and you get 30 seconds of dance music. Think of it as a movement motivator. Who could resist popping off their chair and looking away from their phone to go a little dance?

Cute smiling toast in green toaster night light.

    FUN GLOW LIGHT

Find it: Cute Toast Night Light

This quirky rechargeable toast light may be advertised as a night light for kids, but teens with an appreciation for whimsy and who like to keep their curtains closed and lights off in classic teen-emo style will still enjoy a little glow that isn't emanating from a screen. It may be slightly large for a stocking stuffer, but if your Christmas stockings are stretchy, it just might work.

Box of Speks magnetic fidget putty showing pile of differently shaped black magnets piled on round green tin.

    MAGNET PUTTY

Find it: Speks Magnet Fidget Putty

We gifted a similar desktop magnet toy to my son a few years ago and he was immediately fascinated with it. It ended up being a terrific little brain break while doing homework. Because it contains small magnets, it's a gift reserved for responsible, older teens.

Can of blue sparkle Thinking Putty.

    THINKING PUTTY

Find it: See all the Thinking Putty varieties

As a parent whose kids have gone through more fidget toys than you can imagine, some stand out, like this cool Thinking Putty which provides an awesome sensory experience. The varieties are endlessly fascinating. It comes in numerous colors, scents, designs, and there is even a magnetic version!

Box of green and gold washi tape.

    WASHI TAPE

Find it: Lots of colors and designs here!

There are a bazillon ways to use washi tape and because it comes in so many designs and colors, there is bound to be a roll that suits your teen. Plus, it makes an economical stocking stuffer when you have multiple stockings to stuff. Buy a multi-pack and divide it up amongst your kids. Maybe even give one to mom?

Pack of Sakura Micron fineliner pens with two examples out of the package.

    FINELINE MARKERS

    Find it: Sakura Fineliner Pens

Honestly, these are the best pens. Teens who love to doodle will appreciate their high quality for line drawing, but those who prefer journaling will love how they don't bleed through pages. In our experience, they have a long life. The tips come in different sizes and if you don't know what size to get, the 05 tip is the one we use most often.

    APPLE AIR TAG

    Find it: Amazon

I'm not going to lie, I definitely wish my teen had an Apple Air Tag affixed to several specific items over the years. It would have saved a lot of grief, not to mention hours of wasted time searching. Fortunately they come in packs of multiples!
