Sledding Coloring Page with Snowflake Puppets

    • Facebook

The holidays are drawing nigh and it's time to break out the winter themed boredom busters and arts & crafts projects like this adorable sledding coloring page from our collaborator, Melanie Hope Greenberg. Melanie, an accomplished children's picture book author and illustrator, designed this coloring page featuring three bears sledding among the evergreen trees just for your kids!

Like many of Melanie's cute coloring sheets, this sledding coloring page can also be crafted into a pretend play activity, or extended craft project! Continue reading to find out how!

Sledding coloring page featuring illustration of three bears on a sled in a wintery landscape.

First, gather some supplies. You will need the following:

    • scissors
    • glue stick or school glue
    • wood craft sticks like popsicle sticks
    • coloring pencils or crayons
    • stickers (optional)

Next, download and print the coloring page (by clicking on the following link you agree to our terms of service see end of post for details*): Click here to print winter sledding scene.

Color the illustration as your heart desires. No need to tell your children to stay in the lines or use "normal" colors. That puts an immediately end to all the fun.

Next, cut out the snowflakes from the bottom of the page.

Now you have one of two options! You can either:

    • glue the snowflakes to the craft sticks to make puppets for pretend play and storytelling; or
    • affix the snowflakes to the coloring page itself! Perhaps they will become stars on the trees, or maybe they will be falling from the sky. Or maybe your kids will stick them any old place!

When your child is finished, ask them to tell you about their creation! Start a conversation about the process and how they made their artistic choices. Perhaps they will start telling you a story about the bears and their sledding adventure!

Don't forget to print out our reindeer puppet coloring page to add a few reindeer to prance around in the background of your sledding scene
