Montessori Mornings

In his “jambas”, Kiddo has been putzing around with his Montessori materials.
Building tens.Building hundreds.Building more numbers. Building the binomial cube. And of course, using the materials “inappropriately”… depending on your view. I thought it was great. You can also see we don’t use a mat. For one thing, that means my floor needs to be vacuumed more often, and for another, New Kid would disturb the fun.

I’m linking this to Resources of the Week.

Those look like some great math manipulatives! And I'm glad you let Kiddo improvise with the materials as well =)

challenge! I'd love to get started with Montessori math but am lacking the funds and the imagination right now. Do you have any ideas, suggestions, resources for things that we could start doing on our own? He loves math so very much!

Great materials. My son has been asking for a mat to do his work on. Pretty sure his younger sister wouldn't understand that means she can't touch what he's working on. We'll see.

I am so jealous you have all those materials. I think Montessori materials are so awesome. Of course i'm pretty paid back about it and I think creative use of them is NOT at all inappropriate use. Awesome stuff!

I love reading about all of the fun ways that math learning can happen. I also think that creative use of the materials is perfect!
