Hold on to Your Bookmarks! March Book Madness is Around the Corner

Fun fact: I had no idea that March Madness (the basketball version) even existed until I was in my mid twenties? I think it's safe to say that I am not a sports fan and the university I attended did not have a team. I was probably reading a book or in the library while others were talking about it. While it would be impossible for me to muster up even the tiniest bit of enthusiasm for basketball (or even fake it), I invite you to join in our March BOOK Madness event, co-hosted with Growing Book by Book.

March book madness. A friendly (sort of) book competition!

This is the bracket for the chapter book competition. The final winner of the chapter book bracket will be pitted against the final winner of the picture book bracket. Head over to Growing Book by Book to see the picture book line up.

UPDATE!!: Get your printable of both brackets to follow along --> March Book Madness Bracket

    How to participate:

First, pop over to the What Do We Do All Day? Facebook page, and Growing Book by Book's Facebook pages. If you haven't already done so, click "like" on the pages so you will get our book match up posts in you feed. (Hopefully. Facebook is a fickle beast.)

Starting on Monday, March 2 the "book-offs", that is, the book bracket competitions will be shared on one or the other of these pages: chapter books at the What Do We Do All Day? page, and picture books on the Growing Book by Book page.

The instructions for voting will be posted with each match up and you will be able to vote in as many rounds as you want. Encouraging your friends to vote is strongly recommended! The more the merrier!

So, do you see your favorite books among the contenders? Are there any books you are already rooting for?

Need to catch up on your reading? You can find most of these books on one or more of our 100 book lists. See them all in the book list index.

Woah. This is pure genius, and I'm so excited to follow along and ignore basketball for another year. Tidbit: my art school had an ice hockey team called The Nads, so all 6 of their fans could yell, "GO, NADS!"
