    best picture books 2012So remember back in March when I told you of our Top Books of 2012? Here's another gathering of great children's picture books published in 2012. However, we will have to wait until December to see who make the cut for the year's Top Ten. (You can find our Top Ten of 2011 here.)

    A Home for Bird. You'll go a bit cuckoo for this one (pun intended).
    Boy + Bot. Best friends don't have to be human.
    Sophie's Fish.Watching a friend's fish isn't that scary. Or is it?
    Chloe. Chloe knows that a cardboard box and bubble wrap are more entertaining than TV, but can she convince her family?
    No Bears. Here's a phrase that should be used more often: "picture book metafiction."
    Green. Don't underestimate it.
