Most Popular Book Posts of 2012

Best book posts of 2012
It’s always fun to look over the past year and find out which posts my blog readers (and Pinterest perusers) found the most useful. Sometimes the results surprise me. I thought for sure that parents would like my post on Superhero Chapter and Picture Books, but that list barely made any traction!

Here are my top 5 book posts of 2012:

1.  50+ Chapter Books for Preschoolers and 3 Year Olds. In fact, aside from my Indoor Activity Page, this post was my top post of the entire year. What makes me the happiest is that means parents are interested in reading aloud chapter books to their younger kids. But those of you with readers who are just starting chapter books will find this list useful, too.

2.  How to Find Good Children’s Books: 7 Ways. Not unsurprisingly, parents want to know how to find the best books for thier kids. My methods are not the only ones, but perhaps they will help you out in your search.

3.  Our Favorite Picture Books of 2012 (part 4). Yup. Everyone wants to know the “best of” books. Don’t forget to check out parts 1, 2, and 3 of our year-long list.

4 and 5.   Classics by the Decade: 1980s and 1970s. It was a virtual tie between these two decades. My guess as to why the 70s and 80s? Those were the decades that a huge of chunk of the current crop of parents with school age children were born in.

Did you read any of these posts? What kind of book lists would you like to see in the future? I’m starting a brand new series of book posts next week that I’m really excited about. That’s all I’ll give away for now but let’s just say I hope it will be useful for parents with 5-9 year olds!
