Friday Links and Lovely Things

Rainbow Umbrellas

Cute Kid Moment of the Week: New Kid and Kiddo both got these lovely rainbow umbrellas at the MOMA. They came in very handy during a stormy trip to the aquarium for some penguin-watching.

Playful Posts I Loved:

Kiddo really enjoyed the lunch box jokes I put in his lunch during the first week of school. Now All For The Boys has some printable Halloween Lunch Box Jokes.

This Racing Tube activity at A Little Learning for Two using toy cars and paper towel tubes would go over very well at our home!

Keeping a Gratitude Journal during November sounds like a good way to celebrate Thanksgiving. Read about it at In Our Write Minds.

Blog of the Week:
I am super-addicted to Play Create Explore, a blissfully low key blog with tons of easy and sometimes messy art and play ideas. Plus her son’s eyeglasses make me smile.

Books I Can’t Wait To Read:

Grace Lin’s latest children’s novel, Starry River of the Sky is almost available! Lin’sWhere the Mountain Meets the Moon is, IMHO, one of the best children’s chapter books of all time, and her newest promises not to disappoint.

I loved the wicked humor of Jon Klassen’s I Want My Hat Back. Now he has just released the not-a-sequel, This Is Not My Hat.
