I started out the weekend with my work slot at the Food Coop.
I went to the Greenmarket and bought, among other things, Red Currants
and Purple Lavender (who could resist that color!).
I also took my compost to the community garden (you want to see a photo, right?), where I mixed my Greens with some Browns.
I picked some Green Basil.
We ended the weekend with some homemade Technicolor Red Currant Sorbet.

That lavendar is so beautiful!!! I love the smell too. Just perfect!
I'm jealous! I've been looking for lavender all over the place! Alas, NY is too far a jaunt. Thanks for sharing.
How great! You really know how to enjoy your weekends.
Love Lavender and that lavender look especially beautiful!
Oh, that sounds just lovely. I wonder where I can find a lovely bundle of lavender like that.
that lavender is gorgeous; what do you do with it? Just put it in a vase to look pretty and smell nice?
Yes, I put it in a vase. The lavender farmer told me it should stay fresh and colorful up to a year. Pretty good for $5.
Guurrl!! You are committed to composting – to collect it then take it to your garden. Impressive.
BTW, recommended your blog to a new friend (who is moving to China – read: no yard + active son.)
