Irresistible Color (Bits of My Weekend)

I started out the weekend with my work slot at the Food Coop.

I went to the Greenmarket and bought, among other things, Red Currants

and Purple Lavender (who could resist that color!).

I also took my compost to the community garden (you want to see a photo, right?), where I mixed my Greens with some Browns.

I picked some Green Basil.

We ended the weekend with some homemade Technicolor Red Currant Sorbet.

  2. I'm jealous! I've been looking for lavender all over the place! Alas, NY is too far a jaunt. Thanks for sharing.

  3. How great! You really know how to enjoy your weekends.

  4. Love Lavender and that lavender look especially beautiful!

  5. Oh, that sounds just lovely. I wonder where I can find a lovely bundle of lavender like that.

  6. that lavender is gorgeous; what do you do with it? Just put it in a vase to look pretty and smell nice?

  7. Yes, I put it in a vase. The lavender farmer told me it should stay fresh and colorful up to a year. Pretty good for $5.

  8. Guurrl!! You are committed to composting – to collect it then take it to your garden. Impressive.

BTW, recommended your blog to a new friend (who is moving to China – read: no yard + active son.)
